Nonostante il punk sia arrivato in Italia solo nel 1980, la scena hardcore –immediata e più ‘rovinosa’ evoluzione – si sarebbe presto mostrata come una delle più attive e interessanti al mondo. La parte da leone è stata recitata dalle formazioni del Nord-Italia con i torinesi Negazione a rappresentare la punta di un ideale iceberg. Pubblicato in principi dall'etichetta tedesca We Bite Records nel 1988, "Little Dreamer" è il secondo album del gruppo, una netta evoluzione rispetto al più furioso esordio. Subentrano i primi testi in inglese e le sonorità virano con decisione verso un crossover con il metal. I brani sono più articolati, pur mantenendo una fisicità di base, e svelano inaspettate aperture melodiche. Come nel poetico commiato posto in chiusura – il Giorno Del sole – una sarabanda folk-core che presto diverrà un autentico manifesto.

Punk only hit Italy in 1980, and the hardcore scene followed straight after confirming itself as one of the most active and interesting scenes in the world. Back in the day most of the bands came from the north of the country, among them: Negazione, a Turin based band which soon became one of the crucial Punk-Hardcore realities in Europe. Originally released by German label We Bite Records in 1988, "Little Dreamer" was Negazione's second album. Compared to their debut release this second effort shows a first step towards a more eclectic sound approach where thanks also to an evident growth in terms of technical skills the band's original inflamed energy opens up to a wider expressive variety of speeds and dynamics.
